2020 Season Parent Meeting

Thanks for those who attended the parent meeting on Jan. 12. Here are the slides for those who may have missed it.

Important information about the start of the season

The first day of high school baseball in Minnesota is March 16, 2020. This coincides with spring break for the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Here is how we are handling evaluations this year, which will be unique to 2020.

We will have evaluative practices for all ages Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20, and again Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24. That’s a total of seven evaluation and practice dates. Final cuts will be made after practice on Tuesday, March 24.

All of the days are considered evaluative. Those on spring break only get evaluated for the days they are in attendance. We are doing this as a 2020 plan only because it's the first time in seven years that tryouts have fallen on the week of spring break, and it's a transitional year for coaches. In future years, the expectation will be that players attend all tryout dates regardless of start date and spring break.

Seniors, juniors and sophomores will have practice and evaluations from 8 to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. The times for Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24 will be announced later.

Freshmen will have practice and evaluations in the evenings from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20, and then in the mornings before school from 5:30 to 7:15 a.m. Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24.

Thank you for your understanding, and let us know if you have questions.
