Bengals Beats St. Anthony Behind Powers's No-Hitter

Joey Powers was brilliant on the mound on Thursday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Bengalspast St. Anthony 15-0.

Bengals secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning. Joe BeckmanLukas WestlundPowersAJ KaulGarrett Helmeke, and Damon Thoemke each had RBIs in the frame.

Bengals opened up scoring in the first inning. Powers singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Bengals notched eight runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from an error on a ball put in play by BeckmanThoemke, and Cole Schmidt, walks by Westlund and Powers, a single by Kaul, and a double by Helmeke.

Powers took the win for Bengals. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out nine.

PlayerF took the loss for St. Anthony. He surrendered five runs on four hits over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Bengals tallied nine hits. PowersHelmeke, and Isaac Moin all managed multiple hits for BengalsMoinHelmeke, and Powers each collected two hits to lead BengalsBengals stole 13 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Powers led the way with three.
