Bengals 9A Overcomes Elk River In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Bengals 9A weathered a push by Elk River in the fifth inning where Bengals 9A coughed up three runs, but Bengals 9A still won 14-4 on Thursday. The offensive firepower by Elk River was led by Drew Girtz and Hayden Waletzko, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Bengals 9A got things started in the first inning. Joey Powers drew a walk, scoring one run.

Bengals 9A scored seven runs in the fourth inning. Bengals 9A offense in the inning was led by Isaac MoinNate JacobsonCole SchmidtHayden MrosRyan Wallin, and Lukas Westlund, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Logan Karnowski was the winning pitcher for Bengals 9A. He allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Moin threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Conner Shariff took the loss for Elk River. He went one and one-third innings, allowing five runs on one hit and striking out two.

Westlund led Bengals 9A with two hits in two at bats. Bengals 9A tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Westlund led the way with four.

Gavin Carlson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Elk River in hits.
