9B wins 4th straight!

Early lead gives 9B victory over Elk River, 11-4

9B jumped out to an early lead on Elk River and captured an 11-4 victory on Tuesday at BHS Northeast.

With eight runs in the first three innings, 9B left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run triple by Nathan Hallaway and an RBI single by Edward Maertensin the second inning helped 9B put some runs on the board early.

 

Jack Schwab had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the third and sixth innings.

 

Mitch Fish got the win for 9B. He allowed one run over four innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered three hits.

9B easily handled Elk River pitching as seven hitters combined for 12 hits, seven RBIs and eight runs scored.

9B closer Grant Knowles put away the final out to record the save.

9B answered Elk River's top inning with five runs of its own in the third. 9B scored on A two-run double by Cole Martin, a steal of home by Martin, a steal of home by Dominic Henderson, and an RBI double by Justin Brezinka.

9B increased its lead with two runs in the fourth. A wild pitch scored Ashton Mullins to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Hallaway's single, scoring Kody Stack.
