Early lead gives Bengals victory over Andover, 14-1

Bengals jumped out to an early lead on Andover and captured a 14-1 victory on Tuesday at Andover HS.

The game was decided quickly as Bengals exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.

A steal of home by Justin Brezinka, an RBI single by Nathan Hallaway, and a bases loaded walk by Dickie in the first inning and a steal of home by Derek Kitzmiller and an RBI double by Mason Bryant during the second inning helped Bengals put some runs on the board early.

 

Kitzmiller got on base three times in the game for Bengals. He scored four runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

 

 

Grant Knowles was in control on the bump. Knowles gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

 

Brezinka got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed one run over three innings. Brezinka struck out one, walked two and gave up one hit.

Bengals easily handled Andover pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored.

Bengals built upon its lead with five runs in the third. Kitzmiller started the inning with a single, bringing home Dominic Henderson. That was followed up by Caleb Tuohy's single, plating Brezinka.

Bengals tacked on another two runs in the fourth. A clutch bases loaded walk scored Kitzmiller to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up byMitch Fish's single, scoring Hallaway.
