Offenses dominate as Bengals outscores DeLaSalle 9-8

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as Bengals outscored DeLaSalle 9-8 in seven innings.

The teams banged out 21 hits hits between them, as well as six for extra bases.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to nine lead changes in the game.

Bengals took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. Bengals scored on a three-run triple by Justin Brezinka off Timmermdn, plating Nathan HallawayAshton Mullins and Grant Knowles.

Brezinka racked up three RBIs on four hits for Bengals.

Dominic Henderson got the win for Bengals. He allowed three runs over 3 1/3 innings. Henderson struck out four, walked three and gave up five hits.

The top of the first saw DeLaSalle take an early lead, 1-0. Veuker got things going for DeLaSalle with a double. A stolen base then moved Veuker from second to third.

It didn't take long for Bengals to answer as it scored four runs of its own in the first. Bengals scored on a two-run single by Edward Maertens, a groundout by Josh Spencer, and an RBI double by Hallaway.

Bengals scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fourth. In the third, Bengals scored on an RBI double by Hallaway, bringing home Henderson.

Bengals quickly matched DeLaSalle's strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the seventh.
