B Squad drops tough one to Forest Lake, 10-9

B Squad gave way to a Forest Lake walk-off hit in the tenth inning, dropping a heartbreaker, 10-9, Saturday at Forest Lake HS.

With the score tied at nine, #17 singled to left, scoring #16.

Forest Lake couldn't slow down Connor Melton, who paced B Squad with five hits. He singled in the first, third, sixth, and eighth innings and doubled in the tenth inning.

#6 recorded the win for Forest Lake. He pitched one shutout inning. #6 struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Forest Lake's #16, #17, #7 and #10 combined for 13 hits and four RBIs.

Melton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.

B Squad jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. B Squad's threat began with a double by Coello. A single by Melton then moved Coello from second to third.

B Squad pushed across two runs in both the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, B Squad scored on an RBI single by Mac Enlow, plating Coello.

Forest Lake scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the tenth. In the fifth, Forest Lake scored on an RBI single by #6, scoring #10.

Forest Lake answered B Squad's top inning with three runs of its own in the sixth. Forest Lake scored on a passed ball, an RBI single by #7, and an RBI single by #4.
