Hopkins Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Blaine 9A Freshman fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-5 loss to Hopkins on Wednesday. Hopkins scored on a single by Jackson in the first inning, a single by AJ in the first inning, a triple by Chuck in the second inning, a groundout by Josh in the second inning, a groundout by AJ in the second inning, and a single by Zack in the second inning.

Blaine 9A Freshman lost despite out-hitting Hopkins 14 to nine.

Hopkins got things started in the first inning. Hopkins scored two runs when Jackson singled.

Hopkins scored five runs in the second inning. Hopkins big bats were led by ChuckJoshAJ, and Zack, all driving in runs in the frame.

Jackson got the win for Hopkins. He allowed nine hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out nine. Ramon and Josh entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Ethan Larsen took the loss for Blaine 9A Freshman. He surrendered nine runs on eight hits over three and a third innings, striking out one.

Blaine 9A Freshman tallied 14 hits on the day. Ben Wallraff and Gavin Gillen all collected multiple hits for Blaine 9A FreshmanWallraff went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Blaine 9A Freshman in hits.

Hopkins collected nine hits on the day. Jackson and Josh all managed multiple hits for Hopkins. Hopkins didn't commit a single error in the field. Zack had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
