Elk River Captures Lead Early To Defeat Blaine 9A Freshman

Blaine 9A Freshman watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-3 loss to Elk River on Friday. Elk River scored on a single by Ethan Spanier, a triple by Blake Ramberg, and a single by Parker Kivley in the second inning.

Blaine 9A Freshman lost despite out-hitting Elk River ten to nine.

Elk River fired up the offense in the first inning, when Elk River scored one run on a stolen base.

Elk River scored four runs in the sixth inning. Elk River's big inning was driven by doubles by Kivley and Scott Jussila and a single by Charlie Wonser.

Cole Groebner pitched Elk River to victory. He surrendered one run on six hits over three innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Ben Wallraff took the loss for Blaine 9A Freshman. He surrendered five runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Trinity Yarke-blood started the game for Elk River. He surrendered two runs on four hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.

Ethan Larsen led Blaine 9A Freshman with two hits in four at bats.

Elk River scattered nine hits in the game. Ramberg and Kivley all managed multiple hits for Elk River. Ramberg went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Elk River in hits.
